Shrikhande IVF and Surrogacy center wanted a platform to showcase their intellectual prowess and thought leadership in the field of Gynecology and Infertility. With this bud the thought blossomed and bloomed into the Masterclass Infertility Series. Masterclass Infertility is a program which is the brain child of Dr Laxmi Shrikhande. This platform brings together a host of Gynecology Experts from around the world who share their ideas and research on various topics.
After the smashing success of Masterclass Infertility I and Masterclass Infertility II, Shrikhande IVF is proud to present the Masterclass Infertility III. There is a stellar line up and some extremely interesting topics in store for you.
In this post we try and throw some light on our illustrious guests. Some of our honoured dignitaries that will be presenting at the Masterclasss Infertility III include:
Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran: Sir Arulkumaran was born in 1948. He obtained his MD and PHD degrees from the National University of Singapore. He then became a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Due to being highly regarded in the medical field, Sir Arulkumaran has held several illustrious positions. Sir Arulkumaran was treasurer of the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (1997-2003), its secretary-general (2003-2006) was President from 2012-2015. He served as vice-president of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists before serving as its president from 2007 to 2010.In June 2012, he was elected president of the British Medical Association for 2013-2014.
He was appointed Knight Bachelor in June 2009 for his services to medicine. Arulkumaran has been editor-in-chief of Best Practices and Research in Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 1998. He has written or edited 24 books, 240 articles, and more than 150 book chapters.
Dr Luca Sabatini: Mr Luca Sabatini obtained his medical qualification and his MD at the “La Sapienza” University, in Rome, Italy, where he worked and conducted his research into male and female reproductive endocrinology. In 1997 he specialised in Clinical Pathology and soon after moved to the UK where he trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. In 2006 he obtained the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists qualification of Specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.
Mr Sabatini obtained a Medical Doctorate in 1991 for his work studying the effect of reactive oxygen species on human sperm. His studies were among the first to highlight the detrimental effect of free radicals on human reproduction. In 2003, he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and in 2006 was awarded the European University Diploma of Advanced Gynaecological Operative Endoscopy. Mr Sabatini is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, British Medical Association, Medical Defence Union, British Fertility Society and European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology.
Dr Jyotsna Pundir: Dr JyotsnaPundir is currently a consultant reproductive medicine specialist and minimal access surgery at the Center of Reproductive Medicine, St. Bratholomews Hospital, Barts Health, London. She has completed her MBBS from the Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Raipur India in the year 1996. She has gone on from strength to strength in the intervening years. Dr Jyotsna is currently serving as an Honorary Lecturer at the Queen Mary University in London. She is also the Secretary for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists – Indian Liason Group.
Dr Jyotsna has also published several book and research papers on the field of gynecology. One of her latest and most popular books Gynaecology: Evidence-Based Algorithms was very widely well received. We are looking forward to hearing Jyotsna’s keen insights in the gynaecological field.
Dr Sanjay Prabhu: Dr Sanjay Prabhu is a consultant in reproductive medicine and gynecology at the Bart’s Hospital in London. He also practices in several countries. He is also a consultant in Reproductive medicine in Sidra Hospital, Doha Qatar. Dr Sanjay has finished his medical schooling from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, before moving onto working at Manipal University. After moving to the UK, Dr Sanjay Prabhu has worked with the Herts and Essex Fertility Center.
Dr Sanjay holds a soft spot for Fertility enhancing surgery and fertility preservation. It would be interesting to see the kind of questions Dr Sanjay Prabhu gets about his research at the Masterclass Infertility III.
Dr Ruma Chakraborty Bhargava: Dr.Ruma Bhargava has 20 years of clinical experience in diagnosing and treating various aspects of women’s disorders. She completed her MS in Gynaecology & Obstetrics from the prestigious Grant Medical College and JJ Hospital in Mumbai, India. Additionally she has completed DGO, DICOG and ultrasound training. Dr Ruma’s special interest is Infertility and Reproductive Medicine. She has trained with Dr. Ashok Agarwal from the Center for Reproductive Medicine, Cleveland, USA and at the Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Kolkata, India.
Due to her work as a Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in medical institutions in India, Saudi Arabia and the UAE Dr Ruma has been afforded the advantage oflearning several languages. Due to her affiliation with several international hospitals Dr Rumaspeaks English, Arabic, Hindi, Marathi and Bengali which makes her a favourite among her patients.
