IVF SUCCESS STORY

A Family is an extremely important part of in an Indian culture, so I always knew that we wanted a family with a couple of children. Immediately after marrying, I and my husband decided to start having children. My periods were not regular and things didn’t go as planned but my gynecologist said that I need not worry much as I was only 23 years old and insisted to just keep trying.

However, after a year of trying, I still was not able to conceive. Ultimately, it was my sister-in-law who recommended me to seek help from Shrikhande Fertility Centre a well-renowned hospital in Nagpur for fertility treatment. After a series of tests, Dr.Laxmi Shrikhandeand & her endocrinologist team discovered that I had reduced ovarian reserve (i.e.few number of eggs in my ovaries). As a woman in her early 20s, the news was depressing.

Dr.Laxmi Shrikhande explained to me that I had only20% chance of conceiving a child with in vitro fertilization (IVF). Although the odds were not in our favor, land my husband decided to take a chance and go ahead with the treatment.

I received follicle-stimulating hormones and when the timing was finally right, I went to Shrikhande Fertility Centre Nagpur for my egg retrieval. I and my husband were somehow thrilled to go through the treatment of IVF as we knew that this was the only hope for us to conceive. I was although quite nervous about the results we knew that we were in the safe hands of Dr. Laxmi Shrikhande who has a great expertise in handling such situations also we had learned that Shrikhande Fertility Centre had a good record of the IVF Success rate so we were a bit calm during the egg retrieval process.

Dr.Laxmi Shrikhande ordered an AMH (anti-mullerian hormone test) to determine the appropriate dose of IVF stimulation hormone to administer for my IVF cycle. Four eggs were retrieved and only two were suitable for transfer hence they were fertilized and transferred to my uterus. The procedure went off smoothly with the very supportive staff at Shrikhande Fertility Centre.

Two weeks later I had a blood test at the hospital and the result was positive. I had finally conceived, we couldn’t believe the news that we were finally going to have our first baby. As Dr.Laxmi Shrikhande is a well-known gynaecologist and obstetricianso we decided to continue with her throughout my pregnancy.

I am very thankful for the experience at Shrikhande Fertility Centre, Nagpur. Dr.Laxmi Shrikhande is outstanding as far as her practice and knowledge are considered. Also, the staff at the hospital was equally amazing to support me in the entire process. Now we have a 13 months old healthy baby girl.
