Caesarean involves cutting through the pregnant woman’s abdomen and uterus to take out the baby. The factors leading to C-sections are either medical complications or the mother’s choice. Most women are usually scared by the idea of having a caesarean delivery. This is because they feel there is more risk associated with C-section than vaginal birth, and moms recover from vaginal birth faster than from C-section. Modern technology, however, has made caesarean an easy operation which is considered by pregnant women. Below are some pointers of about C-sections.
- If you are getting scared it’s Ok: Like any other surgery, you are likely to feel vulnerable and scared. Because you will be numb during the surgery, the doctor will have to apply pressure to your uterus to push the baby. Think of the joy and relief you will feel once you hold your baby in your arms. Most of the hospitals take special precautions while dealing with the C-Section and are supported by a team of experts and make it as friendly as possible.
- It hurts but you will be fine: You will feel pain, yes, but not in the way you may think. You will experience pain when you put pressure on the abdominal area like sneezing, coughing and laughing, so be sure to support it with a pillow or your hand this pain will fade off in a couple of days. Proper pain killers will be prescribed for you to overcome the pain.
- A Slight swelling in your body: Pregnant women tend to swell as a result of the increase in the blood volume in the body. Also, extra fluids are given to maintain a healthy blood pressure during the procedure. Post the procedure the body may have excess fluids which may increase the swelling.
- Losing body Fluids: Some may experience to lose the body fluids due to medication or breastfeeding and may experience some pain in passing the stools, this issue is taken care by the consulting doctor by prescribing stool softeners which helps in solving the problem.
